What's up at school?
Computer Kindergarten: We are using a program called ABC World which produces a report for teachers. This program practices letter recognition, letter sounds and sequencing. Students are reviewing our ISAFE rules and using the website www.abcya.com which has a lot of practice with letters and numbers. This is a great website for practice at home. We are going to start with basic typing, words and then sentences.
st grade - We are working on word processing. We will type sentence and then change font, color and size. We will add a digital picture and clip art.
nd grade - We are using a program called Field Trip to the Sea. Students will explore the different areas of the sea and what kind of plants and animals live in the different environments.
rd grade –We are working on a Power Point on the Pledge of Allegiance. Students are learning about the Pledge in Social Studies class, and they will take what they are learning and turn it into a Power Point presentation.
th grade – Students are working on a Power Point. They will add motion art, custom backgrounds and learn how to add custom animation.
th grade – We are working on keyboarding. We are also working on a Power Point. Students started by creating a PowerPoint Help Book that we will print, so they can use this when they create their own Power Point. We will use “print screen,” callouts, arrows and other features to create this “help book.”
th grade – Students are working the Activity Book for adult patients going through Chemotherapy. This book is in memory of Bob Hagedorn. Students will be using publisher and the Internet to create this book.
th grade – Students are learning important computer/technology terms. We are taking notes using Word. As we take notes we are learning how to; highlight, print the screen for an example, use outline form, how to use a PowerPoint template, and other techniques to keep good organized notes. Later we will take a test on these terms.
th grade – Students created a Power Point about the Presidents. This Power Point had “fun facts.” It was a good review of Power Point. Students will go over important computer/technology terms and have a test in a couple of weeks.
